How to Use
Inoculation: Inject the bag through the self‑healing injection port using your chosen spores or liquid culture (sold separately).
Colonisation: Allow the substrate to colonise. Once the bag reaches around 30% mycelium coverage, mix the bag thoroughly to distribute the colonised grain.
Fruiting: After full colonisation, fruit directly from the bag, in a fruiting chamber, or inside a simple humidity tent. Within days you’ll see pins forming and mushrooms developing.
This streamlined process removes the guesswork and avoids the outdated, confusing advice often found on old forums. Our step‑by‑step online guide ensures a smooth, successful grow from start to finish.
Growing Conditions
Temperature:
Colonisation: 24–27°C (75–80°F)
Fruiting: 21–24°C (70–75°F)
Humidity: High humidity (90–95%) is essential for healthy, large fruits. Use misting, a humidifier or a fruiting chamber to maintain moisture.
Fresh Air Exchange (FAE): Mushrooms require fresh air to prevent CO₂ buildup, which can cause long stems and small caps. Ensure good airflow during fruiting.
Light:
Colonisation: complete darkness
Fruiting: indirect sunlight or ambient room light
Sterility: Maintaining a clean environment during inoculation is crucial. Contamination from bacteria or mould can outcompete the mycelium, so always work with clean hands, tools and surfaces.
Ingredients
Great mushrooms start with great ingredients. That’s why we use only 100% natural and organic millet, milo grain and CVG substrate in our kits. Each component is selected to support optimal mycelial growth and strong, healthy fruiting.
Our fourth‑generation all‑in‑one substrate blend includes:
Optimally hydrated millet grain
Milo grain
Coco coir
Vermiculite
Gypsum
This mixture is hydrated to perfect field capacity and sterilised in a computer‑controlled steam autoclave for two hours at 121°C. The result is an ideal 2:1 substrate‑to‑spawn ratio, providing a nutrient‑rich environment that ensures rapid colonisation, large yields and minimal contamination risk.
